MONTESIEPI
|
This drawing depicts the Chapel and Monumental Tomb of San Galgano Guidotti situated in Chiusdino di Siena, built in the 1800s presumably over the centre of an ancient Etruscan place of worship. This monument, visited every year by thousands of tourists of all nationalities, is to be found at the top of a hill and houses within the "sword in the rock" which legends say was thrust by the Saint as proof of his conversion to Catholicism after being the domineering overlord of Chiusdino. |
