Original
drawings: using traditional techniques - Indian ink, bistre, silver point
- depicting alleys, corners of squares, portals in ancient medieval boroughs,
old Romanic churches, Renaissance towers and palaces. My intention is
to transmit the atmosphere so laden with history of the lands in Tuscany
and Umbria. The solemn abbeys, monasteries and hermitages all testify
the Church of those times; noblemen's palaces and the majestic residences
of rich merchants and notables contrast with the spontaneous architecture
of craftsmen's workshops and farmhouses.
